Taiwanese filmmaker Doze Niu is in trouble again, after it was reported that his film crew has damaged several walls in one of Kaohsiung city's historic buildings.
As reported on Taipei Times, a rep of the Kaohsoung City Government's Department of Cultural Affairs stated that they found damages on several walls following an inspection that was made after the crew completed shooting in the area.
The damaged walls were part of the Ming-teh Training Center, a historic building which was completed in 1919 and used as a radio station for the Imperial Japanese Navy and then as a training camp by the Republic of China Navy after 1945.
It was reported that the walls were damaged during the filming of fighting scenes for Doze's new movie, "Qing He Nan Gao".
A representative of Doze, Mr. Liu Ran, had since apologised for the incident. He stated that although they have taken extra measure to ensure the safety of all the properties, they were still unable to avoid such an issue.
Li also stressed that the studio will take responsibility for their action and will bear the cost of the repairs.
It was reported that the crew could face a five-year jail sentence or a fine of USD30,996 if convicted of breaching the act.
This isn't the first time Doze has angered government officials while filming a movie. The director nearly went to jail back in 2014, after bringing his mainland cinematographer, Cao Yu, into the Zuoying Military Harbour to shoot a scene for "Paradise in Service".
