Emily Ratajkowski is apparently not landing the roles she feels she deserves.
Ratajkowski, who shot to fame by appearing topless in the controversial “Blurred Lines” music video, has weighed in on the plight of beautiful women such as herself in Hollywood, telling Es magazine that they have trouble landing roles with gravitas.
“If you’re a sexy actress it’s hard to get serious roles. You get offered the same thing that they’ve seen you in,” Ratajkowski — who since the “Blurred Lines” video has appeared as the resident eye candy, playing herself, in “Entourage” — said. “People are like sheep and they’re like ‘Oh, that’s what she does well.‘”
The model and actress added, “What’s so dumb is that women are 50 percent of the population and they want to spend money to see movies where they’re portrayed as three-dimensional characters.”
When she wasn’t busy lamenting the curse of the gorgeous, Ratajkowski reflected on her now-infamous topless selfie with fellow victim Kim Kardashian earlier this year. According to Ratajkowski, the milestone moment occurred after she defended Kardashian over criticisms lodged by media personality/cranky guy Piers Morgan.
“Kim was kind enough to send me flowers,” Ratajkowski said. “Then we decided to do a selfie with our tops off, flipping off [sticking up her middle finger at] the camera, which I think speaks for itself.”
