Fitness Blogger’s Viral ‘Wedding Body’ Photos: ‘It’s All About Camera Angles’

A swiftly approaching wedding day can bring about many things — a stressed-out mother-in-law, a quickly decreasing bank account and, for many women, a crash diet. It’s not uncommon to feel pressure to lose weight before the big day, especially when you’re surrounded by images of women posting their “before and after” selfies to show off their newly toned bodies, thanks to harsh workout routines (ever heard of “sweating for the wedding?”) and various crash diets.

This is so common that even fitness blogger and creator of the Fit Body Guides, Anna Victoria, admitted to feeling this pressure right before her own wedding. However, instead of posting the typical “body before my wedding diet” and “my body after” photos, she took to Instagram to post before and after shots that were taken only minutes apart, proving that what you see in these images isn’t always the reality. Unsurprisingly, the Internet is going crazy over her post.

The first image shows Anna standing straight and angling her body in the mirror to show off her toned physique, while the second showed a slouching selfie, giving the impression that these two images were taken months apart, before and after she began her workout regiment. However, these images were taking only two minutes apart, showing that no matter how fit you are, everyone gets rolls when they sit like that. See the dramatic difference below for yourself:

“Someone recently said to me that we all have our good angles and we all have our bad angles, so why do we let our bad angles carry so much more weight than our good angles?” Anna says in the post. “If you focus on how bad you look in the bad angles, at least focus on how good you look in the good ones too!” It’s a good tip to remember with wedding season here.

So, just remember that it’s okay to want to eat healthier and up your workouts for the months before your wedding, but when it comes down to it, a few well-angled poses can make a world of difference when it comes to taking a stunning wedding photo. Maybe we should all put some effort into learning how to pose rather than opting for those hard-to-swallow juice cleanses.
