It seems like the whole world is crazy for Game Of Thrones and this latest anecdote is proof that even law officials have a weak spot for the fantasy drama.
Y'see, Kit Harington, who plays Jon Snow, has revealed that he once got out of a speeding ticket by revealing his character’s fate.
The world was left stunned at the end of the last season of the show when Jon was murdered in cold blood by his fellow men on the Night’s Watch, with fans speculating whether or not he could actually be dead for an entire year.
Two weeks ago we were put out of our misery as Jon was brought back to life by the magical (and ancient) Melisandre, but it seems like there was a viewer out there who already knew the details before anybody else.
Kit explained that he was driving back from his parents’ house and being a bit naughty, getting caught speeding.
Speaking on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, he explained: “One policeman knew. He said, ‘Look, there’s two ways we could do this. You can either follow me back to the police station now and I book you in, or you can tell me whether you live in the next series of ‘Game of Thrones.’”
When Kit told the officer that his character was still alive, he says the officer told him: “‘On your way Lord Commander. Keep the speed down this far south of the wall.’”
Classic.
We mean, we’re sure it breaks a whole lot of rules, but it’s still a pretty fab anecdote.
Kit previously apologised to fans after lying to them and saying that Jon was really dead.
After his resurrection episode aired, the actor shared: “I’d like to say sorry for lying to everyone. I’m glad that people were upset that he died. I think my biggest fear was that people were not going to care or it’d just be, 'Fine, Jon Snow’s dead.’
