Sania Mirza, Martina Hingis take WTA emoji challenge

A lot of fun seems to be happening at the Mutua Madrid Open, with the WTA coming up with an emoji challenge once again. They have released a video featuring top female players taking the challenge, trying to mimic the emoticon shown to them. Indian ace Sania Mirza and her doubles partner Martina Hingis are also featured in the video, among players like Victoria Azarenka, Petra Kvitova, Simona Halep, Sloane Stephens, etc.


It’s fun to watch the top athletes engaging in a battle of different sort, pulling off a myriad of facial expressions. While Sania can be seen effortlessly managing the task, her partner Hingis couldn’t help breaking into fits of giggles.

Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis are currently ranked No:1 as per the WTA doubles ranking. The dynamic duo, dubbed ‘Santina’, have turned up trumps ever since they paired up in 2015, winning three titles in a row in their first three attempts. The high point of their partnership was winning three Grand Slams in a row  — Wimbledon (2015), US Open (2015), and Australian Open (2016). They will be heading to Roland Garros to complete a Non-calendar year Grand Slam this month.
