YG Entertainment refused to release any further information about their new girl group.
On May 18th, a representative of YG Entertainment said, "It is true that we are getting prepared for a new girl group's debut, but we cannot reveal any further details at the moment."
Earlier in the day, a press reported that YG Entertainment's head producer, Yang Hyun Seok, recently met up with prominent music videos directors, and had discussions about the new girl group's debut title track music video.
However, an insider said, "We have worked the debut of a new girl group for quite many years, and even though it is true that producer Yang recently had a meeting with music video directors, it is not possible to know what they discussed about during the meeting."
Over the years, YG Entertainment successfully debuted major boy bands like BigBang, WINNER, and iKON, but K-Pop fans did not see much from YG Entertainment's girl groups.
The rumor about YG Entertainment's new girl group first broke out back in 2012, but none of them have been proven trustworthy, and a great number of K-Pop fans are showing huge curiosity about whether they will finally be able to a new girl group from YG Entertainment.
