Is this the most awkward celebrity Twitter hack of all time?
Katy Perry was no doubt left red-faced when hackers gained access to her popular Twitter account and sent a series of messages that seriously confused her 89million followers.
A whole stream of tweets flooded our timelines but perhaps the most eye-catching one was aimed at Katy’s public nemesis Taylor Swift, with the message reading: “Miss u baby @taylorswift13’.
Katy and Taylor’s huge fall out first came to light in 2014 when it was reported that Tay’s single ‘Bad Blood’ was inspired by the feud as the singer revealed that the track was about a fellow female singer who had "stabbed her in the back”.
It later transpired that some of Taylor’s backing dancers ditched her tour in favour of joining Katy’s with Taylor eventually telling Rolling Stone magazine: “For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not. She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, 'Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?’
"She did something so horrible, I was like, 'Oh, we’re just straight-up enemies.’ And it wasn’t even about a guy!”
Katy responded by tweeting: “Watch out for the Regina George in sheep’s clothing….” and when Taylor bizarrely accused Nicki Minaj of “pitting women against eachother” when the rapper pointed out the lack of black nominees at MTV’s VMA Awards last year, Katy took to Twitter to point out that Taylor immeasurably “capitalizes on the take down of a woman.”
Which was no doubt a reference to the Bad Blood music video that saw Taylor recruit her squad of famous female celebs to gang up on Katy.
