Lawrence Ng prefers airing drama in July

Hong Kong actor Lawrence Ng has denied allegations that TVB is playing favourites by putting his new drama first before the previously scheduled drama, "Daddy Dearest".

As reported on Mingpao News, the Johnson Lee-starrer, which has already been pushed back twice, back in March to give way for Tavia Yeung's "The Last Healer in Forbidden City" and another time in April to be replaced by Kent Cheng's "My Dangerous Mafia Retirement Plan", was rescheduled again to July when its May slot was given to Lawrence's new drama, "Presumed Accidents".

Some claimed that TVB did so to stay on the good side of the actor, who rarely films with the network anymore.

However, when asked to address the rumours recently, Lawrence said that he actually preferred the original schedule, which put "Presumed Accidents" in the July slot.

"The July schedule is better, because students are currently sitting for their exams. But since the company is looking up to us, we'll just do it," he said.

When asked if he's not worried that the viewership ratings will be affected, seeing that mainland drama "Nirvana on Fire" has not been doing great as well, Lawrence responded that he is not troubled by it at all, and will promote the new drama as best as he could.

"This is something normal. You should never give yourself too much pressure," he said.
