Despite her status as a wife and a mother, Yang Mi has been spending quite a lot of time outside home. Case in point, the actress recently returned to Hong Kong for only a few hours to celebrate her daughter Noemie's second birthday, before returning to the mainland for work.
However, according to an interview Yang had with Sihai Network, the actress said that she has actually been adjusting her personal life and career slowly and steadily for the last couple of years.
"Women also need to have their own dream and career. Although they have to take care of the family, there is a need to be a balance between the two [career and family]. You should never prioritise one more than the other," she said.
The actress was also asked about her and husband Hawick Lau's decision not to expose their daughter's photos to the public, to which she said, "She is still a child. I don't want her to feel like she's not the same with other children. We don't want her to grow up under the public's scrutiny."
