A momentous thing happened on Love Island the other night. SOMEONE WAS ACTUALLY IN THE HOT TUB.
Some may question if there really was a need for such a HEAVILY-CAPITALISED first-paragraph declaration like that but yes, this was groundbreaking. There were Georgia and Sam – most likely talking about loyalty – while bubbling away on Sunday night's episode.
We have been watching this show since the beginning of June and do not recall anyone using the hot tub, despite it being right there in their garden for use at all times.
We had similar thoughts recently around the lack of people using the pool. Apart from Dr Alex doing his morning swim, god love him, we rarely see Islanders in the beautiful huge infinity pool either. Past contestant Kady McDermott revealed it was because the pool was actually a little bit too cold.
So, what's the deal with the hot tub? Weput the question to this year's Islander Frankie Foster, of Frankie and Samira fame.
"We can go in the hot tub whenever we like, and there's no real reason that we didn't, other than the fact that everyone preferred the pool because it's more refreshing," he told us.
"It's so hot every day, it's nicer to go in a cool pool. It's also a bit of a luxury – it's one of those things you only want when you can't have it, and then, when it's there in your garden every day it's not as exciting."
We kind of get the whole temperature issue but not sure we're quite convinced by the other explanation TBH, Frankie.
