Well-known Bhojpuri actor Ravi Kishan has filed a complaint against a construction group for duping him of Rs 1.5 crore. Ravi Kishan had booked a flat in Versova high-rise, which was developed by builders of Kamala Landmarc Group.
According to Hindustan Times, the Bhojpuri actor has submitted a complaint to EOW a few weeks ago against the builders, namely Jinendra Jain and Ketan Shah, directors of Kamala Landmarc Group. It has now come to light that this is the 24th FIR against the company. The police have merged complaints made by Ravi Kishan and other victims in the case, including Sunil Nair, a Versova-based financial consultant, who was allegedly duped of Rs 6.5 crore.
Ravi Kishan and Sunil Nair have been collectively duped of Rs 8 crore by JV Group, a joint venture of Kamala Landmarc Group and another realty firm. Sunil Nair, in his complaint, stated that in 2011 he had bought a commercial unit for Rs 3.10 crore in a Santacruz (West)-based housing project by a sister concern of the group. But, as the occupation certificate (OC) was not received, Nair was offered a flat in the builder’s other project called Siddhant Project in Versova.
Later, Nair paid Rs 6.5 crore for two flats in the project, for which he was given allotment letters and was promised the flats in a year. And, till now, he hasn’t received keys of the flats. Nair later learnt of Kishan being duped over a 3,165-sqm 12th floor flat in Siddhant Project. He was given the allotment letter, but did not get the house, said Nair in his complaint.
An EOW officer told the leading daily, “We combined their complaints and lodged an FIR under sections 409, 420 and 120B of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and under sections 3, 4, 5, 8, 13 and 14 (1)(2) of Maharashtra Ownership Flats Act (MOFA) against Jitendra, Jinendra, and Shah.” The three directors were arrested in November 2016. It has been alleged that the group and its companies have duped 250 people of Rs 300 crore.
