Gina Rodriguez likes her Golden Globes dress so much, she cried during the fitting earlier this week. Last evening at Moët & Chandon’s pre-Globes bash the Jane The Virgin actress dished to Yahoo Style that trying on her Zac Posen number for Sunday felt like putting on a wedding dress. Although Rodriguez, clad in a black off-the-shoulder cocktail dress also by Zac Posen, wouldn’t spill on the exact details, she mentioned that the designer “had something in mind and it was so much like myself.”
“It’s so elegant,” she said of the dress. “So regal. Zac Posen has been so supportive of me. They reached out and I fell in love. I’ve always been in love with Zac and when they were like ‘We want to dress you’ I was like ‘What? Me?’ It’s pretty remarkable.”
The actress, who is nominated for Best Actress in a TV Series - Musical or Comedy (the category she won last year), was Moët & Chandon’s special guest for the party, acting as a judge for the champagne brand’s Moët Moment Film Festival. Rodriguez helped unveil the winner, Adam Richman, who was selected from dozens of entries, and then surprised her manager with a cake for his birthday. Not that she’s partaking in the sugar or the booze right now, though.
