A pair of twins have been born minutes apart in two different years in a hospital in California.
Maribel Valencia gave birth to two babies either side of midnight on New Year’s Day at Kaiser Permanente hospital in San Diego.
The first twin to arrive was Jaelyn, who was born at 11.59pm on December 31, 2015. She was followed by her slightly younger twin brother Luis Jr, who was born two minutes later at 12.01am on January 1, 2016.
Mother and babies are said to be doing well, although future birthday parties could be problematic. Maribel and her husband, Luis, have another daughter, Isabella, who is three years old.
