For starters: There is no way that Kanye West is actually $53 million in personal debt, but he says he is so here we are.
If Kanye needs a cool $53 million, he should stop tweeting Mark Zuckerberg and look across to his wife, the hella-rich Kim Kardashian. Kim’s net worth is an estimated $85 million so $53 million is a solid 62% of her money. But Kim could make that cash back without barely lifting a finger. Here’s where the bulk of her money comes from:
That Mobile Game Which, Admit It, You Loved
Kim Kardashian released her first eponymous app in 2014; it was a major success. According to Kim Kardashian: Hollywood developer, Glu Mobile, the app has been downloaded 42 million times. This week, Glu Mobile’s CEO Niccolo de Masi revealed the game has brought in $100 million since its launch. Kim reportedly takes in about 45% of the profits, which makes for a $45 million payday. That’s a hefty chunk of change.
Her Personal Mobile App
Kim and her sisters found a new way to make some dough in 2015 when they launched their own indivdual apps, where they share photos, videos, and other content of interest to die-hard fans who subscribe for $2.99 a month. Kim also debuted Kimoji, an app that costs $1.99 and offers users more than 500 Kardashian-inspired emoticons including her ugly cry face (which is worth the $1.99 alone). While the verdict isn’t in yet as to how much Kim rakes in with this venture, we’re sure she’s making bank since Kimoji has been topping Apple’s charts since its launch in December.
