It was one of the most anticipated moments of last night’s Grammy Awards and it most definitely did not disappoint.
Lady Gaga paid tribute to iconic singer David Bowie, who sadly passed away following an eighteen-month battle with cancer last month.
Gaga channeled her inner Ziggy Stardust as she gave a pitch-perfect rendition of Bowie’s classic songs, with the tech-heavy performance doing the late eclectic performer justice.
Lady Gaga was clearly overwhelmed by the privilege of giving such a performance at the prestigious ceremony and took to her Instagram page before her performance to simply write: “The world loves you David”.
The star performed nine of Bowie’s songs in total in a stunning six-minute performance, including ‘Space Oddity’, 'Changes’, 'Ziggy Stardust’, 'Suffragette City’, 'Rebel, Rebel’, 'Fashion’, 'Fame’, 'Let’s Dance’, concluding with 'Heroes’ which drew a standing ovation from the crowd.
We could not think of a more fitting tribute.
