When Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming film Raees was going on floors, there had been reports that Khan's character is based on alleged bootlegger Abdul Latif, who ran the illicit liquor business in Gujarat during the peak of Prohibition in the 1990s.
Now, it seems that this connection might prove to be troublesome for the Raees team as we have heard that Mustak Ahmed, the son of Abdul Latif, has sent legal notices to nine prominent people involved with the making of Raees, including SRK, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, producer Ritesh Sidhwani and director Rahul Dholakia, asking them to cease and desist with their film as it is feared that it might portray Abdul Latif in a negative light.
Apart from Khan, Raees, which is slated to release this Eid, also stars Mahira Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
