Brilliant and Boneheaded 'Survivor' Plays of the Week: Julia in the Middle

“Sometimes the guy in the middle of the road gets run over,” Aubry warns in this week’s Survivor, referring to Julia, who’s playing both sides. She voted with the women last time, but she still has connections to the guys.

That middle position is, as Aubry says, a dangerous one — but it can be powerful, too. And unfortunately for Aubry’s plans, Julia does not get run over. Instead, she wins immunity, and is able to sit back and watch the two alliances scramble for position.

With the two sides seemingly entrenched, Scot and Jason realize this is the opportune time to use the Super Idol. Or, at least, talk about using the Super Idol. Thanks to Aubry’s new machinations, they don’t even need to play it, since she and Cydney engineer Debbie’s elimination.

Power rankings:

1. Tai - He now controls both idols, and is very well-liked by everyone.

2. Julia - She has a lot of power as a swing vote.

3. Aubry - She is probably the smartest player remaining.
