2001 surprise hit Tum Bin is all set for his sequel. Producer Bhushan Kumar is taking the franchise forward and Anubhav Sinha directing this as well. The film will commence from April 4 in Glasgow, Scotland. Tum Bin 2 stars Aditya Seal, Aashim Gulati and Neha Sharma in the leads. Neha was seen in films like Crook, Youngistaan and Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum, while, Aditya Seal was last seen in 2014 release Purani Jeans. But he is famous for his role as a the 15-year-old adolescent in Manisha Koirala starrer controversial film Ek Chhotisi Love Story. Ashim Gulati, the another lead will enter Bollywood with this film.
When a popular daily asked Anubhav about casting newcomers, he stated, “While a Dus could not have been made with newcomers, Tum Bin 2 can’t have stars with established images. We decided on these three after seeing 1,500 screen tests. Even the supporting cast are fantastic talents but not big names, the brand is the biggest star. None of the original cast, including Priyanshu Chatterjee, Himanshu Malik, Raqesh Vashisth or Sandali Sinha will be back."
Anubhav further stated that this film will be an intense love story in the same genre as the original film. The film will be extensively shot at Glasgow and Edinburgh until the end of May month said the Ra.One director. He plans to release the film on November 18, 2016.
When asked, why it took him so long to take the franchise forward, Anubhav admitted that he wasn’t aware of the power of the franchise and was not planning any idea of sequel seriously. The music of Tum Bin is even loved after the 15 years of his release. NikhilVinay’s chartbusters, including the title track, the Jagjit Singh ghazal "Koi Fariyaad”, “Chhoti Choti Raatein” and “Tumhare Siva” are still evergreen. For the sequel producer Bhushan Kumar and Anubhav have signed on Ankit Tiwari as the music director. “This is the first time that Ankit will be composing the entire score for an album. He will also be singing some of the tracks himself. The lyrics are by Manoj Muntashir with one song penned by Shakeel Azmi,” revealed Anubhav.
