After opening up about her battle with depression, Coronation Street actress Beverley Callard has revealed that things are improving.
Bev, who plays Liz McDonald and has been signed off work for up to two months, recently spoke about coping with the mental illness after she was unable to get a repeat prescription of one of her HRT medications.

Speaking to The Mirror, Bev explained: “There is so much stigma around mental illness, and that’s the reason you have to talk about it.
“Everything in my life is amazing and wonderful right now and you think, ‘How can this happen to me again? Why?’ I’ve got a wonderful husband, a fantastic family and a great job. I’ve got nothing to moan about whatsoever.
“But once you start to slide into that black hole you can’t ever imagine being well again.”
Bev has since taken to Twitter to keep her fans updated with how she’s doing, revealing that things are ‘on the up’.

Thanking people for their support, she tweeted yesterday (April 4): “Had a good day today, things are on the up! Thank you for being there!!!!! X [sic]”.
