The winners of the 63rd National Film Awards were announced today and Sanjay Leela Bhansali has bagged the Best Director Award for his magnum opus Bajirao Mastani.
This is Sanjay's first National Award and he is quite elated on receiving it as it had been his mother's longstanding wish. After he was declared the winner, SLB said that his first National Award is really special to him as his mother always wanted him to get one and that finally her prayers have been answered. He stated that his mother ‘screamed' when she came to know about his big win and that her happiness means a lot to him.
Remo D'Souza has won the Best Choreography for Bajirao Mastani while Tanvi Azmi, who had played Bajirao's mother in the movie, has been declared the Best Supporting Actress. The film also won in the Best Cinematography and Best Production Design categories.
