Tamara Ecclestone said she is finally “at peace” in her life as she explained her decision to address “tiresome” divorce rumours.
The Formula One heiress, who is about to celebrate her third wedding anniversary with businessman Jay Rutland, made a very 21st century declaration of the strength of their marriage on Instagram in March, urging people not to “invent and spread” rumours.
It followed months of speculation that a court case involving Jay had put strain on the marriage.
He eventually had charges of assisting an offender dating back to 2010 dropped in April this year.
She told Hello! magazine: “Towards the end it was just tiresome because it wasn’t true.
“I guess because there was no truth in it, it didn’t really bother me and I was just like, ‘I don’t need to defend my marriage, I know what’s going on behind closed doors.’
“So in the end I just thought it would be easier to put something on Instagram and say, ‘You know what, there is no truth in it’.”
The 31-year-old socialite also opened up about refusing to use a nanny or babysitter for the pair’s two-year-old daughter Sophia, revealing they were yet to spend a night apart.
She said: “We’ve never left her, ever. I don’t really feel the need to. When she’s asleep at the end of the day I have a cup of hot chocolate and watch a TV show or a movie. Jay and I are on the same page for that.
