TVB actor Hoffman Cheng was finally able to release his own album following his departure from record label, Voice Entertainment.
According to On CC, the actor, who promoted his album on Commercial Radio Hong Kong recently, stated that he had spent his own money to finance the album production in order to realise his dream of having his own record.
"I spent six figures to make the album and work with friends who I have known for more than a decade," he said.
Hoffman also admitted that he gets emotional whenever he talks about the album and his effort to become a singer.
"I hope to attend music awards at the end of the year as a new singer. I'm not hoping to win awards. I just want to get the experience," he said.
When asked if he resented his former record label for not helping him release an album, Hoffman stated, "I know I was one of the oldest singers under the label, and there isn't much that they can do from an investment perspective."
However, Hoffman said that he still learned a thing or two about the music industry from his time there.
