Cardi B is back to making history, after her summer hit “I Like It” featuring J Balvin and Bad Bunny reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. She's now the only woman rapper in history to have two No. 1 hits on the Hot 100 chart, following her breakthrough single “Bodak Yellow” in 2017.
When “Bodak” hit No. 1 in October Cardi, whose real name is Becalis Almanzar, became the first woman rapper to top the chart since Lauryn Hill’s "Doo Wop (That Thing)" back in 1998.
She and hubby Offset were thrilled on Instagram. "When I calm down, I'm gonna talk to y'all more about it, but I can't, I'm too excited, my adrenaline is rushing and shit," she said, also thanking J Balvin and Bad Bunny.
According to Chart Data, this new No. 1 song makes Cardi the first woman artist to top the Hot 100 with two singles from a debut album since Lady Gaga in 2009. Invasion of Privacy is also the first album from a woman to produce two No. 1 singles since Taylor Swift’s 1989 in 2014.
