Newlyweds pose in front of a burning building and the photos are too hot to handle

An Ohio couple’s wedding photos are so lit, they went viral. Dillon and Corrie Jameson were enjoying their wedding reception when a fire broke out in an abandoned building less than a mile away. Thanks to photographer Megan Allen, the couple was able to take advantage of the unexpected dramatic scenery get several pretty hot photos.

“As the reception was slowing down, something out the window caught my eye. I glanced out to see huge flames erupting from the building across the way,” Allen tells Yahoo Lifestyle. “I ran to find Corrie, the bride, and found her running toward me, going, ‘We have to get this! We have to get the fire!'”

Allen grabbed her second shooter and ran out of the reception with the newlyweds. They scrambled up a hill to the other side of an overpass and snagged the images that ultimately went viral.

“We were there for two or three minutes, shot a couple angles, and quickly left when the response teams moved into position,” says Allen. “We maintained a safe distance from the fire and to obey all the requests from the first responders when they arrived.”

Allen ensured she did not put the couple or her team in harm’s way and made the most of the moment without putting anyone in danger.

“We worked quickly to make sure we never were in any danger or impeding the first responders’ ability to work in any way,” she says. “No photo is worth losing a life, and I’m glad we were able to be a safe distance away but still close enough to really capture the essence of that moment in time.”

Allen, who has been a destination wedding and engagement photographer for four years, shares that her creativity and inspiration often comes from the couples she is photographing. Just like what happened with the Jamesons. She says they were 100 percent into the concept with zero hesitation, ready to capture an unforgettable, breathtaking image.

“Dillon and Corrie loved the results. When I transferred the image to my phone to show them, they immediately began passing the phone to everyone at the wedding. To see their excitement for what we’d captured, that means the world to me,” she says. “If I can create images that excite my couples, no matter what the situation may be, then I’ve done my job.”
