One Direction fans have been sent into a frenzy over reunion tickets which reportedly appeared on Ticketmaster after Louis Tomlinson marked the band's eight anniversary.
Eagle-eyed fans of the History singers spotted a listing for a One Direction: On The Road Again concert on Australia’s Ticketmaster website, minutes before it was removed.
The supposed show had been scheduled for December 31, 2020 and claimed to be taking place at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne.
The show also appeared to be listed under Spotify’s upcoming events for the band but was later removed.
Hopefuls who attempted to bag a ticket to the show have since been met with an error page as the listing was taken down.
Panicked fans took to Twitter to alert their followers, expressing confusion and excitement.
One fan wrote: “I went onto ticketmaster (through a link for some reason it’s not on when you go on the website) and went onto the ‘Eithad Stadium’ if you scroll down to dec 31 it says there is a one direction tour: on the road again 2020??? Is this like someone joking or….” [sic]
Another commented: “SO THIS POP [sic] UP THEY WILL BE HAVING A CONCERT THIS DECEMBER 31 2020 AT AUSTRALIA HOW TF TO CALM.”
A third posted: “There's tickets ON TICKETMASTER FOR DECEMBER 2020 ON THE ROAD AGAIN TOUR IN AUSTRALIA THIS IS NOT A DRILL.”
The show would mark the group’s first performance since their 2016 hiatus which has since seen each of the members release solo music.
According to fans, Etihad Stadium denied the event being on their upcoming schedule.
Meanwhile, Tomlinson paid tribute to the groups’ eighth anniversary since they were first formed on the X Factor.
He wrote: “#8YearsOfOneDirection Where has the time gone!? Thank you so much to every single person who’s ever supported us. Big love!
“And remember if it’s by one direction and it’s a banger I probably wrote on it #8YearsofOneDirection.”
A representative for the band said: "There are no gigs planned for One Direction currently."
