Directioners, we hope you're sitting down for this one – a concert listing for One Direction, scheduled years after the band decided on a hiatus, has appeared online.
Ticketmaster briefly showed a listing for December 31, 2020, at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia, the Daily Mail reports. Emphasis on "briefly", because the listing was quickly taken down from Ticketmaster's website. But fans noticed, especially since it popped up on Spotify under the group's upcoming shows.
Needless to say, fans started freaking out. The possible glitch happened to come around the same time as One Direction's eighth anniversary. The band put out a new playlist on Spotify, and tweeted about the group's milestone.
Given the timing, and the new playlist, fans were sure there was a mystery to solve.
But it may have been just a glitch all along. The stadium posted on Instagram that the event was not in its schedule, and Ticketmaster said that it didn't know anything about the event, and couldn't give any more information.
A representative for One Direction told the Evening Standard the sad truth: "There are no gigs planned for One Direction currently."
For now, all fans are getting is some nostalgic tweets from Liam Payne, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson. And some old-school song lyrics from the official One Direction account. It'll have to do for now.
