Coronation Street star Morag Siller dies aged 46

Morag Siller, who played Reverend Esther Warren in Coronation Street, has sadly passed away at the age of 46. The actress was diagnosed with breast cancer five years ago but lost her battle on Friday at Manchester's Christie Hospital.

Her talent agency confirmed the star's death and released a statement in which they said Morag will be remembered "for her extraordinary warmth, generosity and mischievous sense of humour" as well as the "fearless determination" she showed during her cancer battle.

The statement added: "She was a truly inspirational person who we are incredibly proud to have represented. We will miss her hugely."

Morag was a patron of two cancer charities and raised tens of thousands of pounds for the local organisations.

The Edinburgh-born actress also famously starred as Marilyn Dingle in Emmerdale from 2002 to 2004. She has also featured in Casualty, Holby City, The Bill, Monarch of the Glen and various radio shows and adverts.

Her friends and former cast members have been paying tribute to Morag on social media. Coronation Street star Antony Cotton wrote on Twitter: "Morag Siller. What a woman. She was a magnificent human being. Devastated."
