The photo sharing app, which states in its terms and conditions that “you may not post violent, nude, partially nude, discriminatory, unlawful, infringing, hateful, pornographic or sexually suggestive photos or other content via the Service,” appears to have overlooked Bad Girl RiRi’s latest uploads - despite removing numerous nipple-baring photos in the past.
The social media site hit headlines last year for banning photographer Melissa Jean Wilbraham’s breastfeeding photos during World Breastfeeding Week, so it doesn’t seem fair that Rihanna’s uploads are acceptable.
No doubt Instagram will argue that the singer is clothed in the images - but she barely is. She’s wearing a drawstring waist robe (which is completely see-through) and a thong. Not exactly what most people would call clothed.
Rihanna’s no stranger to getting semi naked for the whole world to see. She recently told US Vogue that one of her biggest life regrets (yes, really) was not wearing a sparkly thong with *that* sheer dress at the CFDAs. And while no one can argue that the 28-year-old doesn’t have an incredible bod, because she does, and it’s most certainly up to her whether she wants to flaunt it, surely social media networks such as Instagram should make the same rules apply to all?
